So, what’s it like staying at the All Star Movies Resort? I’ve written this comprehensive guide to tell you all about it. I’ve got it all covered, from the resort’s location to the rooms, amenities to recreation, and dining to transportation.

Themes at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Like everything the Walt Disney Company does, the All Stars Movies Resort is beautifully designed with detailed theming.
If you or your kids are fans of Disney movies, this is a fantastic place to stay for a memorable Disney vacation.
There are giant sorcerers’ hats and spellbooks in the Fantasia section, a larger-than-life Herbie VW Beetle in The Love Bug section, enormous hockey paraphernalia in the Mighty Ducks section, a 35-foot Perdita and 40-foot Pongo in the 101 Dalmations section, and a supersized Woody and Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story section.
Both the interior and exterior at this All Star resort have been carefully themed by the Walt Disney Company to completely immerse you in the world of movies.
The rooms feature the theme according to which section of the resort they’re located in – Herbie The Love Bug, 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, Mighty Ducks, or Fantasia.

Check-In and Check-Out At Disney’s All Stars Movies Resort
Check-In
Check-in time: 3 pm
You can check in online to the All Star Movies Resort up to 10 days before your arrival, and I strongly encourage you to do this.
You’ll be able to put in room requests, such as room number, near the pool, in a specific building, on the ground floor or first floor, and other details you prefer. This will allow you to bypass the check-in desk when you arrive and go directly to your room.
Follow the My Disney Experience app instructions to unlock your door and let the fun begin! There’s also a special Online Check-In Line at the front desk.
If you arrive before check-in time and your room is not yet ready, you can leave your luggage with the concierge and head to the parks or enjoy the resort. They’ll give you a phone number to call and find out if your rooms are ready.
You can also sign up for text alerts – just ask the front desk staff.
The luggage assistance service is a multi-room drop-off service, not an individual one, so expect some delays. If you plan to head out soon after you arrive, I suggest you pack some essentials in a carry-on bag.
Check Out
Check-out time: 11 am
I like to arrange express check-out. You can do this by paying with a credit card and asking for this service when you check in. They leave a detailed hotel bill at your door by 7 am on the morning of departure. If no corrections are needed in the bill, you can just leave.
Late check-out can be requested (without additional cost), but there’s very limited availability, so don’t bank on it.
Some airlines offer resort check-in services at Disney resorts if you’re flying domestic. This complimentary service allows you to hand over your checked luggage at the resort instead of the airport. Ask the desk staff at the All Star resorts about this service at check-out time.
Rooms at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
There are only two room categories at this resort – standard and preferred. The only difference between the two is the location of the rooms within the All Stars Movie Resort. The preferred rooms have better locations and cost more.
Here’s an overview of the rooms at this Disney Value resort.
Number of Rooms
There are a total of 1920 rooms inside the resort.
Average Room Size
The rooms at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort are 260 sq. ft. (the smallest on any Disney property).
For reference, moderate category resorts like Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter, and Coronado Springs have 300+ sq. ft. rooms.
The rooms also feature a small kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, and a mini-fridge. If you’re looking for bigger accommodation with a full kitchen, check out our list here: Which Walt Disney Resorts Have Kitchens?
Bed Configuration
One king bed or one queen bed and one Murphy bed.
Maximum Persons Per Room
Rooms accommodate four (plus one additional kid under the age of 3 in a crib). There is an extra charge of $10 per person per night if more than 2 adults are in a room.
I find that while 2 adults and 2 children can stay in these rooms, more than 2 adults in the same room can get uncomfortable.
Given that these rooms are some of the lowest-priced Disney World Resort hotels, I recommend getting connecting rooms. You can also look at family suites in other Disney resort hotels, such as the nearby All Stars Music Resort, which can accommodate up to 6 people.
Views from the Rooms at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Views are of the central courtyard, parking lot, or landscaped areas between buildings for the standard rooms and pool areas for the preferred rooms.
Best Rooms at Disney’s All Stars Movies Resort
The preferred sections are the Toy Story building, 101 Dalmatians building, and Fantasia building.
They are closest to the Cinema Hall Lobby and World Premiere Food Court and are higher priced.
Rooms near the Cinema Hall are convenient and centrally located, but they can be quite noisy, especially in the mornings and evenings. Since this is a Value Resort, it often hosts large groups like dance teams, football teams, and cheerleaders, so you should be prepared for some loud groups.
Herbie The Love Bug buildings are great if you prefer a quieter section of the resort with less foot traffic. The Mighty Ducks building is closest to the bus stop. There are elevators and stairways in all the buildings.
Closest to Cinema Hall: 101 Dalmatians and Toy Story
Closest to the Duck Pond Pool: Mighty Ducks buildings
Closest to the Fantasia Pool: Fantasia buildings
Quietest Rooms: Love Bug buildings

Room Rates at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Prices at Walt Disney World hotels depend on the season and day of the week.
The holiday season (mid-December to early January) is the most expensive time to visit Disney World. Room rates are also some of the highest during Easter week.
Average room rates at Disney’s All Stars Movies Resort are $120 to $250 for a standard room and $135 to $275 for a preferred room.
Parking Fee at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Overnight self-parking for registered guests is available at $15 per night stay at Disney Value Resorts, such as the All-Star Movies Resort. However, self-parking is complimentary if you’re going to the resort to enjoy dining, shopping, and recreation experiences.
Tip: Connecting rooms are available. However, suppose you’re not staying with friends or family. In that case, I suggest requesting a room that does not have a connecting door because you can sometimes hear other guests in adjoining rooms through the door (people laughing, babies crying, toilets flushing, the works).
Please note that all guest rooms at Disney resorts are non-smoking. There are outdoor designated smoking areas in each resort. Check the resort map or ask a cast member for the location.
Recreation at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Cinema Hall
This is the heart of the resort, and it’s where the 24-hour front desk and guest services are located. There’s a film-themed food court, gift shop, ATM, the Reel Fun Arcade with some fun video games, and a playground (located between Cinema Hall and Toy Story buildings).
Reel Spot
Located between the food court and the Toy Story buildings, this is a small outdoor area where they screen movies most nights (weather permitting). There’s a poster that tells you what’s playing each evening.
Other Activities at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
There is a splash playground for the little ones and a running trail if you want to get some exercise. There are two ping pong tables (between the Fantasia pool and the Toy Story buildings) – paddles and balls are available.
Additionally, other paid recreational activities are available (see the list on the board near the Fantasia pool).
Swimming Pools at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
There are two pools at Disney’s All Stars Movies Resort:
- The Duck Pond
This pool area near the Mighty Ducks buildings is a hockey-themed pool with giant hockey sticks and Goofy as the goalie.
- The Fantasia pool
It has Sorcerer Mickey spraying water from a fountain and directing a liquid symphony. There’s a kiddie pool at Fantasia for the little ones.
If hunger strikes, there’s an outdoor pool bar that serves light snacks and drinks. Life jackets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at both pools.
There are no hot tubs or water slides.
Pool Depth: 3 feet to 5 feet at both pools.
Amenities: In each pool area, there is a shower area, restrooms, lockers, and even a laundromat.
Towels: You have to bring them from your room.
Pool Hours: Usually 8 am to midnight.
Lifeguards: Usually on duty from 10 am to 10 pm.
Dining at Disney’s All Star Movie Resort
World Premiere Food Court
The All-Star Movies Resort does not offer table service restaurants, so you cannot enjoy a fancy dinner here.
However, the World Premiere Food Court on site is excellent, with a wide range of food items on the menu.
There are five marquee venues with cinema themes:
- Roxy
- Rialto
- Majestic
- Grand
- Lyric
You can get pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads, hamburgers, barbecued ribs, rotisserie chicken, baked goodies, fresh fruit, and more. The Food Court is open from 6 am to 11 pm every day.
Silver Screen Spirits
This is the poolside bar where you can grab breakfast and light snacks and drinks throughout the day. Specialty drinks cost $14 on average, wine $10-12 per glass, beer $8-10 per bottle, and non-alcoholic specialty drinks are around $5 each. Sodas are also available from vending machines near the stairwells in all the buildings. The machines accept cash and credit cards. There is usually an ice machine located nearby as well.
Room Service
There is limited room service at the All Star Resorts (pizza, salads, and soft drinks from 5 pm to midnight).
Transportation at Disney’s All Stars Movies Resort
Disney’s All Star Movies Resort is well connected by the Disney bus transportation system.
The bus stop is outside the main building (Cinema Hall) facing the parking lot. The buses will take you throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, including the four theme parks, the two water parks, other resort hotels, and the Disney Springs area. This bus transportation is complimentary (free).
Another way to get around if you’re staying at the All Stars Movies Resort is the Disney Minnie Van service powered by Lyft, which will take you to select locations in WDW, including traveling from Orlando International Airport.
Disney’s Magical Express airport transfer service has been discontinued as of January 1, 2022. However, Mears has launched a new paid shuttle service to Disney hotels.
You should know that this service is a shuttle, so it may drop off guests at other Disney resorts, and therefore, it won’t be the fastest way to get there.
