If you haven’t got your Disney World theme park tickets yet, it’s very easy to purchase them. You can do it on disneyworld.com or through the My Disney Experience mobile app. After you’ve paid for your tickets, you can link them to your Disney account online and access them through your MagicBand at the main entrances of the theme parks. So, in most cases, you don’t need to receive or print physical Disney World tickets. But if you do need or want physical tickets, does Disney World mail your tickets?
Yes, Walt Disney World will mail physical tickets to you if you need or want them. When you purchase tickets online, at checkout, you will be given delivery options. The default choice is e-mail. But you also have the option to choose U.S. domestic standard shipping, U.S. domestic express shipping, and international shipping.
Keep reading to learn how long physical tickets take to arrive by mail, what happens if your mailed tickets do not arrive on schedule, and how you can actually go without physical tickets at Disney World.
Will Disney World mail my tickets?
Yes, Disney World will snail mail your tickets to you if you choose standard or express U.S. domestic shipping or international shipping at checkout when purchasing your tickets online.
Do you need physical tickets at Disney World?
You do NOT need physical tickets at Disney World, provided you link your tickets to an active MagicBand that’s connected to your My Disney Experience mobile app account. However, if you are visiting Disney World for the first time and do not have a MagicBand, then you will need physical card tickets to enter the parks. There are two ways you can get these physical card tickets.
The first is to choose U.S. domestic shipping or international shipping at checkout when you purchase your tickets online. If you choose these snail mail options, Disney World will mail hard copies (card tickets) through the mail to your home address. You can use these card tickets to enter the theme parks and water parks, depending on the types of tickets you purchased.
The second option is to choose e-mail at checkout when purchasing your Disney World tickets. In this case, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with a barcode. You will need to print this e-mail confirmation and take the printout to the park entrance on your first day. You’ll also need a valid photo ID as well as the credit/debit card you used to originally purchase the Disney World tickets. A cast member will scan the barcode on your e-mail confirmation and give you card tickets that you can use to enter the parks.
Note that even if you have obtained physical card tickets for Disney World by mail or at the park entrance, you can still link your tickets to your account in the My Disney Experience app. Doing this will allow you to make FastPass+ selections in the app.
It is worth noting that if you have an annual pass linked to your Disney account, you will need to hold on to the annual pass even if it’s linked to your Disney account. You will need to show the annual pass for complimentary standard parking and dining and merchandise discounts (valid photo ID also required).
Can I show my Disney tickets on my phone?
Yes, if you don’t have a printout of your e-mail confirmation, you can show the eTicket barcode on your mobile phone to a cast member at the main entrance. If you purchased the Disney World tickets from the mobile app, the barcode can be scanned directly from your mobile device as well.
How long does it take for Disney World tickets to arrive by mail?
If you have ordered Disney World park tickets from disneyworld.com and chosen standard shipping, your physical card tickets will arrive in the mail in 14 days. Disney World Resorts need this time to process, handle, and ship your tickets.
If you need your Disney World tickets in less than 14 days, consider opting for express shipping. You can also purchase your tickets after you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.
What happens if my Disney World tickets do not arrive as scheduled?
If you ordered Disney World tickets online and chose standard domestic U.S. shipping, you should get your physical card tickets in 14 days. In most cases, Disney World can get your order to you within the allotted time. However, occasionally there may be delays or disruptions. If your physical tickets to Disney World do not arrive as scheduled, you should e-mail ticket.inquiries@disneyworld.com or call (407) 566-4985. If you are under 18 years of age, you will need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to call.
Can I pick up my Disney World tickets that I purchased online?
Yes, there’s a system called “Will Call” that allows you to purchase Disney World tickets online and pick them up upon your arrival at Disney World. You can pick up the tickets at any Disney World theme park ticket booth, including the water parks, or any Guest Relations location or lobby concierge in the Disney World Resort hotels, as well as Guest Relations in Disney Springs. Note that annual passes or Florida resident passes may not be available to pick up at the Resort hotels. You may need to go to a Guest Relations office or ticket window at the theme parks to pick up annual passes.
To collect your physical tickets at Disney World, you’ll need your confirmation number and a valid photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID). It’s also a good idea to have the card you used for the purchase handy.
Should I buy my Disney World tickets in advance?
There are definite advantages to buying your Disney World tickets online in advance, rather than waiting to buy them on the day of your visit to any of the four Disney World theme parks.
The first is the cost advantage. It is cheaper to buy tickets online in advance. Tickets of 3 days or longer cost about $20 less when purchased in advance online or over the phone compared to buying them in person at Disney World ticket booths, hotel concierge desks, or guest relations. For a family of five, this is a saving of $100+ right away.
But there’s another reason why you should purchase your Disney World tickets in advance. When you purchase your tickets before your trip, you can make FastPass+ reservations for the most popular rides as soon as the booking window opens. This is something you definitely want to do for the popular attractions at Disney World. FastPass+ reservations allow you to breeze in at a predetermined time and board the ride with no waiting time. Some of the rides that offer FastPass+ reservations have waiting times of 120+ minutes in the stand-by queue on busy days. Many FastPass+ reservations get fully booked weeks in advance. Buying your Disney World tickets before your trip gives you the best chance of snagging the FastPass+ reservations you want.
What are the advantages of linking my Disney World ticket to my Disney account?
We highly recommend linking your Disney World ticket to your online Disney account. This will allow you to conveniently access your tickets through a card or MagicBand. You won’t need to bring paper printouts to the park during your visit. You can link all types of tickets to your Disney account, including theme park tickets, water park tickets, and tickets for special events as well as annual passes.
An added advantage of linking your tickets to your online Disney account is that if you lose your physical tickets or MagicBand, your tickets are safe. You can request replacement card tickets or MagicBands (MagicBands may be subject to additional fees).
So, even though Disney World will mail your tickets to you, it makes a lot of sense to use the online options that are convenient and quick.
