However, when it comes to this attraction, your biggest dreams can turn into a nightmare without preparation. So here we brought you the most outstanding and Complete Guide to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

What are the requirements for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique accepts kids from 3 to 12 years old and adults are expected to be alongside them throughout the whole process. It would be great if you could drop them, but it is probably for a good reason.

When we said kids, we mean it. Certainly, the vast majority of the demand comes from girls, but boys also have the opportunity to have their photoshoot. The experience is very similar to the princess’ version, but they become Princes or Knights.

How to make reservations at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

If you have at least a princess at home, you know how much girls want to go through this experience. So the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is VERY demanded. To the point that if you don’t make a reservation, you may find yourself waiting at the doorstep all day long without any guarantees. So the best you can do is step ahead and make a reservation.

The hotline takes reservations 180 days in advance and they are quite busy, so take a seat, pick up the phone and be patient. If you are interested in making the call, the number is (407) 939-7895.

Before making the reservation consider where you would like the Fairy Godmother to do her magic. There are two locations: the Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom and Once Upon a Toy Store in Disney Springs. This is important because you may get confused and end up missing the appointment.

If you haven’t decided yet, consider that the one in Cinderella’s Castle tends to be more crowded but it is definitely part of the experience. If you don’t mind sacrificing this part, Disney Springs’ location tends to be less crowded and the result will be basically the same.

Try to make a reservation as early in the morning as possible. This will not only guarantee you incredible natural lighting for photos with meet-and-greet princesses but you will also have enough time to enjoy the rest of the attractions or an incredible lunch at Cinderella’s Royal Table.

However, it is important to keep the agenda of the day as flexible as possible. In fact, schedule an extra block for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Even though they do a great job with timing, sometimes it could take extra time and your plans may end up ruining in the end.

Checking-in

Try to be a little early just in case, but if you appointed your date in the afternoon you will probably have to wait for a little longer. In case you didn’t make a reservation, go to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as fast as possible, run if you have to. Otherwise, you may wait for nothing.

Once your name is called, they will assign you a Fairy Godmother In Training (FGIT). She will have the mission to turn your child into a princess or price -depending on the case-, just like it happened in the Cinderella in the movie. Luckily, there won’t be a Prince Charming included in the story.

The FGIT will confirm your package selection at this point and tell you everything it entails: makeup, hairstyle, nail polish, and the rest.

The Make-Over at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

The first thing your princess or prince will be asked is to change in the dressing room located in the back of the boutique. You can either select a dress for sale or you can bring your own -this option will save you some money but we’ll get there below.

Once your child has dressed properly, it’s the moment to get on the makeover chair. The process will start with the hairstyle and you can choose from three options available: the Fairytale Princess, the Disney Diva or the Color Star.

At this point, the Fairy Godmother In Training will do her magic. Of course, it’s not as fast as moving her wand while singing Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, but have some patience considering she is in the training process.

The Fairy Godmother in Training is usually very extroverted and tends to ask questions during the process in a fun way, being conscious about how the child is being treated, like if she is pulling her hair too much or hurting her somehow. So they tend to be very gentle.

Also, FGITs are meant to do a magical job. If there is anything you would like -within the parameters of the package- don’t hesitate to speak out. The same applies if there is something specific you don’t like. Talk before it’s too late.

The FGIT will then discuss with the child and their parents about the makeup colors, so you don’t have to worry about this. Just stay close when the time comes. Also, remember the FGIT is pretty much a pro, so she may guide you through the process if you don’t know or are not sure about your decision.

When the makeup is done, it is time to go for the nail polish. The same way as makeup, you can decide which one you like or let the Fairy Godmother In Training do her magic. Then, she adds some sash, sprinkles some dixie dust and that’s it! Your princess/prince have gone through a complete transformation!

The Big Reveal

As you may understand, this is not as magical if there is no big reveal. So, the child is against the mirror throughout the entire process and it becomes a truly magical experience when they are done. They get to turn around and see the result.

If you hired the photo pass photographer, this moment will be captured for eternity. In case you didn’t, remember to take a picture with your phone. There are no words to describe their reaction.

The entire experience takes around 30 minutes for the low-cost packages and up to an hour and a half for the most expensive ones. When you are making reservations, remember to ask how long the process takes so you can schedule timing correctly. Time is precious in Disney World.

Last but not least, children are given a cinch sack as a souvenir. The sack comes with the makeup pallet used for the makeover, nail polish, makeup remover and instructions that will help you to “remove the magic.”

Enjoy the Princess/Prince time!

After the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you can go have lunch at Cinderella’s Royal Table to top the whole experience. Food is great and you are dressed and ready to enjoy the best it has to offer. Just don’t appoint this lunch too early in case something unexpected comes up.

After that, you can go have some meet-and-greet photos with the princesses. Probably the nearest ones are located at the Princess Fairytale Hall, but there are many other important ones you can visit. If you wonder “Where Can I Meet Ariel at Disney World?” or basically any other princess, you can always find out at the Time Guide.

Additionally, there are great locations to take a photo that will last for the rest of your lives. For example, you can go outside and take some incredible pictures with the amazing castle or stop by the Cinderella Fountain.

Another option would be going to the Castle Couture in case you didn’t bring a camera. You can always find a great photographer there to take some incredible shots of your princess or prince.

The final great option would be using the princess finder of the park’s app to check if the actual Fairy Godmother is available. She is usually in the back of the castle, waiting for people to come to meet and greet her.

What are some tips to have a perfect experience?

Ok, so now that you know everything that has to do with the actual process of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, it is time to go through the tips that will make you have a better experience and reduce your expenses.

Bring your own dress and a change of clothes

If you want to save a couple of bucks, this is definitely a must! Dresses in sale start at 130 USD and then upgrading to the mid-tier dress can cost you 165 USD more. Certainly, the other packages bring other things besides the dress, but this is basically what makes it more expensive.

So, make sure you pack your own dress for the occasion. In case you don’t have one yet, many people buy original dresses at the Boutique and end up selling them on eBay or Amazon at a much better price because, let’s be honest, there are not many situations in which you can use it and girls end up growing up fast.

Be really careful with the costume you buy. If kids see a better dress at the store, they will probably want to get the best one. So think ahead and make sure your child won’t have second thoughts about the outfit.

Also, bring an extra change of clothes, including an extra pair of shoes. This will be a lifesaver in case something goes wrong or simply to be more comfortable at the end of the day. Certainly, kids will want to wear the magic as long as possible but you will have some backup so they can run, jump and get on other attractions.

Bring your camera

Disney’s photographer is a little expensive, so you may want to save a little bit on this part. If you know photography, they won’t take as good pictures as you wish. Otherwise, use this service only to get the best possible memories from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. The meet-and-greet princesses also have photographers but you can use your own camera.

Use a locker

Another common mistake is not renting a locker at the front of the park. If you enter with the costume, it will wrinkle or worse. If you store it in a safe location, you can make sure no small things will mess up the experience.

There are big lockers where you can lay the dress down and there are others where you can fold it just once. Sure, it means more walking but at least you can make sure nothing will go wrong -so you won’t have to buy another outfit to make your kid happy. Besides, you won’t have to carry the costume around for hours until your kid is ready.

Remember the Age Limits

Lastly, make sure your daughter is over 3 and under 12 to be able to experience the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover. For teens and adults, there are other characters inspired makeovers in various salons across the Disneyworld resort and parks.

Difference between the Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs Boutique

Cinderella’s Castle is the most popular location for obvious reasons. It attracts the kids and appears to be classier. But opting for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Springs might be a smart choice for a number of reasons. Firstly, as Disney Springs is not a theme park itself, there is no admission ticket required, and you can visit it any day during your stay. You can also save up the park touring time on the ticket for other activities.

Disney Springs is a comparatively newer location, so it has more space and seats. It also has two unique features that aren’t there at the Magic Kingdom’s boutique. These include numerous changing rooms that have a large mirror. These mirrors have a special surprise hidden within them, the Fairy Godmother herself! She appears in the mirror to greet the princess and offers tasteful comments.

The second perk in Disney Springs is the photo op with a replica of Cinderella’s carriage. A Photo Pass photographer takes picture post-makeover, but you can take your own pictures too if you like. You can also take photos in the Photo Pass service studio located near the boutique. It has various fun backgrounds to choose from that you can get made into a princess storybook!

It is quite easy to get a reservation at Disney Springs as the Cinderella’ Castle is always jam-packed. It is also possible to obtain a walk-in appointment on most days.

Can boys go to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

Yes, boys can totally go. They get to become a Knight if they want to :). Our son Hunter loves this especially the sword and shield part lol.

Can Adults do Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique isn’t available for adults although now Walt Disney World is offering Character Couture Package for adults. This can be located at:

  • Ivy Trellis Salon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
  • Salon by the Springs at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • La Vida Salon at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
  • Ship Shape Salon at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

How Long Does Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Take?

The appointment itself takes roughly 35-45 minutes from start to finish depending on the package and princess hairstyle you choose. We have 4 kids so if they don’t all start at the same time it can take a little bit to finish them all up.

Keep in mind that you need to check in early and that they can run a few minutes late also before you even get to start.

Last Word

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a magical experience every single girl in this world should be able to live. They have a great time and even better memories. Of course, it takes a little effort but it is definitely worth the trouble and saving.

At the end of the day, girls will look incredible, boys will be outstandingly handsome and you’ll get to make a postcard for every single member of the family. Just try to follow the advice and you’ll have the most magical experiences of your lives.
