Frozen Ever After
Check out Frozen Ever After inside the World Showcase at the Norway pavilion. The entire ride and most of the line is inside keeping you nice and dry. This use to be the Maelstrom attraction but it was replaced using the same tracks and vehicles and now you can take a tour of Arendelle.
You can also duck into the nearby restaurant Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe or the gift shop that’s right next to the ride.
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is a small, slow-moving ride located right inside the famous Epcot ball the biggest icon for the whole park. Since this attraction is fully indoors, it is an excellent option when it rains.
Spaceship Earth takes you on a journey traveling through time and exploring the history of human communication from the Stone Age to the computer age.
The ride lasts for around ten minutes and once you’re done, you can head to the indoor area with interactive games.
The Seas with Nemo & Friends (Aquarium)
Yes, as weird as it sounds, rains will allow you to explore the seas. The seas with Nemo and Friends are yet another famous pavilion that is located inside Epcot.
The Seas with Nemo & Friends is an easy ride that kids love taking you on a tour under the sea away from all the rain.
You will also find plenty of viewing areas for the aquarium. So, if you’re visiting the spot, you can check out the various exhibits and animals here. This attraction is fun, interactive and ideal for kids and adults.
Bonus: There is a fun show with Crush that’s great for kids but might be a little intense for the toddlers.
Check Out The Land Pavilion (Soar and Living with the Land)
The Land Pavilion features some of the coolest attractions ever! What’s more, this entire pavilion is located inside which means you won’t be soaked up in the rain at any instance.
Soarin’
Here, one of the most popular attractions is Soarin’. If you haven’t yet guessed, this ride makes way for a truly groundbreaking experience as you fly over some of the most iconic countries.
Living with The Land
You can also try one of my personal favorites the Living with the Land ride, which is a boat ride amid the lush gardens of the pavilions. It’ll teach you about farming and also offer some unique ways to make the most of the land.
Journey To Imagination With Figment
If you’re fond of slow-moving attractions, here’s another one on our list. Nestled right at the Imagination pavilion, this is an excellent way to spend your time on a rainy day. The attraction comes with Figment who at one point happened to be the unofficial mascot for the entire Epcot.
You’ll get to enjoy a journey where your senses are fully awakened, and you get to see some of the best things with imagination. It is one of the best attractions for an entire family. What’s more, you will also get to enjoy some interactive and fun games right after the attraction ends. So, if you are looking for something simple and fun, this is one of the best options out there.
Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival at the Imagination! pavilion
There’s a theater right inside the Imagination Pavilion that has shows for three amazing shorts from Disney and Pixar every day. Since the attraction and its queue is in the indoors, it’ll be a great spot for hanging out if you are not willing to be soaked by the rain. The shorts can be truly amazing, and they will remind you why you enjoy Disney and Pixar Studios so intensely.
Check Out Epcot’s Famous Restaurants
So, you’ve been looking to visit some of the popular eateries at Epcot but have eventually ditched the plan due to the long waits for the table. Guess what? This is your time to get the table and enjoy a meal at the swanky restaurant.
You can check out the famous La Cellier Steakhouse at the iconic Canadian pavilion. The comfy, warm ambiance of this restaurant teamed with a piping hot bowl of cheese soup will certainly help you forget all rainy-day troubles.
Or if Pizza and Pasta is your jam then make sure to check out Via Napoli Restorante e Pizzeria which is my favorite 🙂
Mission: SPACE
Another fun attraction where guests get an opportunity to enjoy a shuttle taking off right into space. You will find different versions of this attraction in multiple levels of thrill. If you are looking for a family-friendly option, this is certainly one of the best ones out there. Since it is fully indoors, you can try this out for beating the rain.
Check Out the Epcot World Showcase
Very often, some of the best country pavilions in Epcot are ignored because they don’t feature fun rides. But guess what? These pavilions are one of the best spots to be in while you’re battling a rainy day. Featuring excellent architecture, they are a true treat to your eyes. So, visit these iconic country pavilions and soak in the culture and the very many hidden treasures all of them come with.
Shop Till You Drop!
You can always try the oldest trick in our bag: shopping.
The largest shop here is the Mouse Gear. One of the best options for tons of Disney themed merch. We usually pick up a coffee mug or three every time we go.
Another great option is the World Showcase and the country-themed Pavilions. These allow you to find souvenirs that fit the specific country you are visiting whether its Norway, Mexico, Italy or any other of the 11 pavilions.
As you shop around, you have the option for getting the packages sent to your resort or right at the front of the park. This means you’re also saved of the trouble of carrying those extra gift bags.
Try Wine-Tasting
At Epcot, you have the option of going wine tasting. La Bottega in the Italian Showcase has a tiny wine shop. Since it also comes with Venetian masks, books, and plenty of kitchen wares, you can also do your fair share of exploring while sipping the wine.
Just pick some of your favorite bottles and find a dry corner for having your private wine tasting session. The Italian wines will surely lift your spirits up!
Flavors of Club Cool
Flavors of Club Cool is a great option to wait out a storm if you have kids. With a bunch of Coke merchandise as well as free samples of Coke products from around the world.
The American Adventure
You can find The American Adventure is the host pavilion. It’s the main attraction of this pavilion and is an Audio-Animatronics stage show of American history.
Since all of it is inside it’s another great option during the rain. Plus, you get to beef up on your American history.
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros
Located inside the pyramid at the Mexico Pavilion the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros is a musical dark boat ride. It was the first World Showcase attraction to feature Disney characters based on an existing property.
What Rides are For Sure Closed at Epcot When it Rains?
Can I Ride The Test Track When It Rains In Epcot?
Epcot has been critically famed for Test Track. It is one of the most high-speed attractions of the spot. Sadly, Test Track won’t be available when it’s raining. Why? Because the ride’s final portion will take place in a fully exterior track. So, whenever the cast members witness the first sign of rain or lightning, they will immediately shut the attraction down. They won’t admit new guests either. If you are standing on the Line, you can certainly wait. However, do note that delays due to the rain can range from 5 minutes, an hour or even more. Rain is one of the biggest enemies of Test Track. SO, if you’ve booked tickets for the ride and it starts raining heavily, avoid wasting time on it in the first place.
Are Shows Canceled When it Rains at Epcot?
Yes, some of the shows are canceled like Canadian Lumberjacks and French Acrobats. However, a few of the shows move there locations inside their respective pavilions.
